Apart from the fact that he seems to be whacking off a picture of his family, I'm missing some intensity. It's all a tad bit too "funny" to be serious, yet too serious to be funny, leaving it somewhere in the middle (which pretty much is nowhere). Try to go for one goal, or the other. Sounds and graphics were good, the story ain't bad either, just try to go for one style.

The recorder option was great! Only thing that bugged me BIG time was the high E and F, which are in fact a high F and G, and the absense of all the half tones. Now I'll never be a Beethoven ;'-( LOL

in terms of flash techniques this isn't too impressive, but the illusions are good and the slideshow is entertaining. Of course there is a lot of room for improvement - there's another flash movie with optical illusions on Newgrounds, but it works with a bookshelf and has some secret rooms and stuff, which makes it all a bit more interesting.

You said it was your first, and it shows (no offence). The sprite ripping went okay, but the story was missing, the animation was jumpy (try more fps) and the sounds were just wrong. Some background music would be nice, too. Anyway, next time think of an interesting plot before you even open up Flash.

"Work out the concept more"

The concept to the movie is cool, it's like a video game interactive breakdance kind of movie. And yet, I'd suggest you work it out better. The dancemoves weren't exactly great (Samus was okay, Link and Megaman really can't dance) and the interactivity was minimal. You could insert multiple (and better!) dance moves per figure, maybe even throw in dance remixes of the original soundtracks (if you'd like i'll try to make some video game dance loops). Anyway, you're on to something, yet a lot of work has to be done.

LOL I didn't notice I've seen part 1 of this until I saw the castle after Link's death :) Graphics have been slightly better since part 1, the animated walking sequence of Mario in the end was pretty bad though. Unless he was stomping the ground in place and Bowser slided in or something, you might wanna animate the floor underneath Mario so it looks as if he's actually walking. Anyway, there's still not much of a story yet, but I'm glad that this finally is a series that acutally gets continued. A little spell check wouldn't hurt either. And I didn't exactly understand the "shaded buildings" scene...
Overall, it's not exactly great, but an average view on Mario's messed up life, with some unclear scenes.

Make me proud and release a final, bug-free version next time which actually has some kind of extended gameplay, instead of the 4 platforms, 7 coins and 1 tube it has so far. I understand you were anxious to show us what you did, but next time please only show us if it's finished (or at least beta-complete). People on NG tend to dislike or even hate unfinished movies and games. Good job so far, anyway!
