near-perfect!

the story is great, the graphics spell out N-O-S-T-A-L-G-I-A, the sound/voices are very clear and the movie is just too funny! Only flaw, it goes by a little slow (a lot of silences between spoken words). Other than that, it's about to become a classic!

i like the PBJ series, but..

why is this so big? Frankly, this version bores the hell out of me, where other PBJ's used to crack me up. I like the disco-extention to the movie, but why is it 1.5 megs big? And then again, this is "just another PBJ movie"...

about the mp3...

decompress them to WAV. Flash will auto-compress WAV files to a standard (but adjustable) 16 kbps MP3 format. Okay, about the movie: it looks very solid, very fluid. I like your style of art. Too bad that the loading time was about four or five times the length of the movie. The music didn't exactly match the movie either. I'd suggest you go for some tech-rock kinda "tekken soundtrack" thing. This thing has potential, just work it out and make it longer!

Good but not great

First of all, I'm glad to see that someone has put some effort in making a movie! The graphics were okay, not top-notch but very acceptable. Just like the sounds, which get a bit repetitive after a while, but hey, it's a shootout! I liked to see it, although there is room for improvement (as there is always).
I know you've tried to keep down the filesize, but a soundtrack (even a short loop from time to time) would freshen things up for sure. Also I'd like to see some facial expressions in a possible new version. Finally, this movie needs some kind of plot, a story of some kind. Even if it's only a short introductional (is that even a word?) story to this shootout.
So far my views on improvement, just keep 'em coming and I'll be watching!

an appropriate title would be "above Mediocre but not fantastic..." but i like your style better! =) Sorry I havnt replied to any of the comments for a few days, but i am about 3/4 of the way through my new, improved story-movie. Im not going to say too much, just that it has a (slightly repetative) original loop, and Bill Gates, who's mad as hell! Thanks for the review... my new movie will be out soon!

I'm getting too old for this...

This movie went by faster than you could say "Epilepsy"! The movie has it all: sprites, sound, a battle... It was not bad, but it wasn't exactly entertaining either. It's like watching the intro of a computer game which you usually never get to see because you want to play the game.

Hey! Heyheyheyhey! Hey!

This movie was okay. The graphics looked cheesy but decent, and that's what made it funnier. The balloon 3D thing looked cool :) It was quite long as well! And the music scenes were in the right place at the right time (or s'thing like that). Okay, now for some flaws. There were some things wrong with the sound. First of all, the sounds were played onMouseOver, which gave it a weird effect from time to time. It probably is more interesting for the viewer NOT to have to click a play button 30 times in a movie anyway. Also, the footsteps were just too much; is everyone in your movie walking with concrete shoes on wooden floors or something? The story was, well, missing. Altogether it's a nice movie with potential.

Ah well...

another Mario parody. This one is slightly amusing, nothing more. Actually it didn't make me smile once, nor bored me. Try to keep things in perspective next time. I mean: background, tiles, mario himself... it does all look a bit twilight-zoned.

GraEm3 responds:

so next time i'll make a mario in the twilight-zone.

I feel like...

...I have Parkinson. Anyway, it's nicely done but makes NO sense whatsoever, hell it wasn't even funny! And "neato-looking" is "gayo-sounding".

2.5 MB

The size of this baby made me wonder whether or not to go and see it. Eventually I did and I didn't regret. I was glad to see a preloader, but the whiner I am, I'd like to see a progress bar in the next version (yeah, I know, I'm a nag). You could try to "downgrade" the music quality to make the movie smaller in filesize. Okay, enough about the filesize, now about the movie. I like how you used the blocks for presents. I missed music during the movie though. The movie itself was cool, the first outtake went by too fast to follow, the second outtake was okay. Altogether I don't understand how this baby got the size it is right now. Well, whatever, I smiled during the movie, so it was quite okay. Not great though.

'scuse me...

is this one jumpy or is it just me? also, i think you used an MP3 for the sound, which made the movie bigger than necessary. please correct me if i'm wrong on any of these points. The joke was funny though, next time put more effort in your Potters and use a higher frame rate.
